| A class action is a lawsuit filed by one or more plaintiffs on behalf of others who have a similar legal claim. The ability to join together as a group in one lawsuit against common defendants allows for our judicial system to function more efficiently. Without class actions, thousands, possibly millions of claims might theoretically flood the court system. The class action procedure encourages the filing of one single case on behalf of all people harmed, minimizing the need for thousands of individual cases. More importantly, class actions encourage more responsible behavior on the part of corporate defendants. Many class actions are made possible by the heroic actions of whistleblowers, who come forward to expose unlawful practices of their employers. Because of the benefit they provide to society, they are often rewarded financially for their courage. We assist clients in large and small class action lawsuits, including cases concerning consumer fraud, pesticides, carcinogens in the workplace, insurance fraud, environmental pollution, deceptive trade practices, pharmaceuticals, and more. If you believe that you or a family member qualify to start or join a class action lawsuit, or if your conscience leads you to expose inappropriate activities of your employer, please complete our Class Action Questionnaire to find out if you may have a case. | ||||
